Instrument clustor
- Tachometer.
- Indicate about tractor’s engine RPM.
- Engine coolant high temperature indicator.
- Warning light glows when temperature of coolant is high.
- Water in fuel indicator.
- This indicator will indicate high presence of water in water separator.
- High beam indicator.
- This indicator will glow when headlight will be on high beam mode.
- Battery discharging warning indicator.
- This indicator will indicate that battery is either charged or not.
- Fuel level indicator.
- In this indicator level of fuel in tank and pointer will shift in red zone when fuel will be very low.
- System diagnostic error indicator.
- This indicator will glow when there will be any error in electrical sensor.
- Engine preheat.
- This indicator will glow when ignition heater is on at 2nd position of ignition key.
- Left – Right turn indicator.
- This indicator indicates about turn indicator on or not because sometimes operator forget to switch off indicator after turn.
- Malfunction indicator.
- This indicator will glow when there will be any error system or any connection is not connected.
- Digital hour meter and clock.
- Delta pressure sensor.
- This indicator will glow when there will be increase in differential pressure of POC/DPF unit. This may be due to running of tractor at idle speed for long time. To troubleshoot it run tractor at optimum load at higher RPM then this indicator should go off automatically and if it does not go off then contact your nearest dealership to troubleshoot this problem.
Engine oil
After first 50 hours of continuous of tractor its engine oil should be changed, to change engine oil there should be no dirt on tractor’s engine or wash complete tractor with water. Then park tractor at leveled surface and let tractor cool down. Then open drain bolt and filling cap to avoid vacuum. When whole oil drained out then tight drain bolt with 3.5 Nm torque and fill engine oil up to max mark on dip stick. In this tractor engine oil capacity is 10.7 liters and recommended grade is 15w40 CL4 PLUS. Original genuine Cartridges filters should be used during service because use of any other filters can damage tractor’s internal parts and shorten tractor’s life.
Implements selection for tractor:

Do’s for tractor’s long life:
- Let starter key come back to its original position after starting the tractor.
- Check proper working of instrument cluster indicators such as oil pressure gauge & battery charging indicator.
- Check proper tightness of cylinder head bolts and manifold nuts regularly.
- Inspect air filter primary element daily and clean with air pressure if filter is dirty.
- Check hose connection daily.
- Drain extra water from water separator.
- Clean fuel tank after every 500 hours.
- Fill diesel in tank at the end of the day.
- Change engine oil after first 50 hours and then change engine after every 300 hours.
- Check engine oil level daily and top up if level is low.
- Replace engine oil filter after every 300 hours and filter should be changed after first 50 hours.
- Check sources of leakage daily before starting tractor.
- Check level of coolant in radiator daily before starting tractor.
- Clean radiator fins in dusty and dirty conditions.
- Check alternator belt tension (free play should be 10 mm).
- Don’t use half clutch while operating tractor.
- Clutch paddle free play should be between 25 to 30 mm.
- Do change transmission oil after every 1800 hours and for the first time oil should be changed after 1200 hours.
- Check condition of rubber protection given at the bottom of gear levers and prevent these from water and dust.
- Both braking paddle should be locked when tractor is at road.
- Do grease of brake paddles and adjust free play.
- Before draining transmission oil ensure that hydraulic linkages should be down position.
- Clean hydraulic strainer at every service.
- Don’t lubricate ball joints just clean and dry them.
- Lubricate steering greasing points.
- Change steering oil once in a year or at 1000 hours.
- Always maintain proper air pressure according to situation i.e. air pressure for field and haulage is different.
Diesel saving tips:
- Avoid unnecessary idling of tractor.
- Operate at optimum RPM and gear.
- Check air pressure daily.
- Always use matching implements.
- Drain water from water separator.
- Maintain proper brake, clutch paddle and fan belt free play.
- Check and adjust valve clearance at scheduled service.
- Keep air cleaner filter clean.
- Lubricate all greasing points properly.
- Don’t run tractor high RPM unnecessarily.
Water ballasting:
Water ballasting is very useful when there is continuous wheel slippage after mounting weights on tractors. Water ballasting provides wheel traction to your tractor and saves fuel but wrong method of water ballasting will result high fuel consumption and low power output and bad driving experience. There should be 70 to 75 % water in tires and 25 % air pressure. For the low temperature areas ( temperature less than 0°C ) calcium chloride should mixed in water about 600 gm in 1 kg of water to avoid freezing of water and damage in tires. Here is the table for water ballasting according to tire size for Sonalika and other tractors.
Rear tire size | Water in litres |
---|---|
12.4*28 | 160 litres |
13.6*28 | 180 litres |
14.9*28 | 190 litres |
16.9*28 | 200 litres |
16.9*30 | 210 litres |
